Yes - using Linux for that purpose would be my fallback. But it is a bit
more complicated, because my Win machine is in the corporate network,
while the Linux machine is my private machine, and not part of the
network - where I have access to Postgis, and everything.

can you send us the warning literally (German or English)?
I remember an issue report (or gis.se question) about an artificial
limit that was formulated like a warning but was indeed preventing from
doing an export. Sounds pretty much like what you are experiencing.

Hi Andreas, it's strange because it used to work before. The limit was
reached with 32 bit version of QGIS easily but I never reached it with 64
bits
