I was with GDAL 2.1.0, but I was using QGIS from http://qgis.org/debian,
and it was compiled against GDAL 1.11.3.
I've just compiled from source and it is working like a charm!

What version of GDAL are you using? Geopackage support needs >= 2.0, for
some geopackage features even higher. Many Linux distros ship with older
GDAL releases.
Do you have the libdxfrw libray installed?
On Linux your best bet to test the very latest releases of the libs and
QGIS

I'm testing DWG/DXF Import tool, and it works great on Windows!
But it does not work here on Linux. On Linux, when I try to import the DWG,
it says:
"Could not open layer list" and then
"Drawing import failed ()".
Also, when I try to open (on Linux) a geopackage created with DWG/DXF
