As far as I can tell, it affects all formats. You have to manually change the -of parameter of gdal_translate in the bottom box. At this point, no it will likely not be fixed in 2.0 as that's already gone to packaging. GDAL_tools is a python plugin though, so I'm wondering if we might just be able
