For me, a summarize is: save two days of waiting (on a 4+ months
schedule) so 1% users can compile while 99% get frustrated.
Why can't we state that release is when windows + mac + ubuntu are ready?
Many reported users get confused.
Last time, people were asking where to find the installer.

Some consider it the source ball and the packaging a plus. Others include

I still do not get the option for SOSI files in 32 bit QGIS in the files of
type drop down menu in the open file dialog window. The SOSI option is
avaiable in 64 bit.
That is because the gdal-sosi plugin in 32bit OSGeo4W was built

Hi Andreas
I am trying it on my computer, but without any results - I am unable
to get the crash.
So it does crash only with labeling turned on?
Can be the crashing project reduced to just one map layer and still crash?

Is it possible to drop it for just Windows users? I just think we will end up

platform)

Hi Martin,
It is quite hard to find out what is really causing the issue.
I had Jürgen visiting my machine with Teamviewer but he did not see
anything obvious. We had quite a few crashes but not a good idea what
may be causing it.
The interesting thing is that it only happened with certain data

Yes, seems to work there.

I doubt it, since the installer is also built based on OSGeo4W, if I am not
mistaken.
Is it possible to drop it for just Windows users?

I don't like this potential crash when remove a layer used on the composer.
We also experience this kind of situation on qgis 2.0.
In qgis 2.2 I lost of sight the question because our users knowing the
problem paid attention to avoid to remove a layer.
:)
Now I like to try to replicate this

Hi,
I will continue to try to simplify the project.
@Andrea: this is a different issue. My crash happens directly after
project load. Not when removing a layer.

Hi,
Happy to report that the source generates/compiles using CMake 3.0.0, at
least on my Mac with OS X 10.9.3 and latest build tools. I did receive some
policy warnings. Looks like most are related to CMake editing I have done
and another Mac related. Will look into it after release.

I can think of is to ensure the GDAL_DRIVER_PATH is set in the environment,

Hi Larry,
Thanks for your efforts. I understand that you are especially busy right now…
I checked GDAL_DRIVER_PATH and it was - just as you suspected for OSGeo4W –
set properly to “C:\OSGeo4W\bin\gdalplugins”.
Just like in James case, SOSI is listed in the combo-box in QGIS and I get the
If SOSI is available in the Raster file open dialog, it is because gdal has
support for SOSI. If a particular SOSI file cannot be opened, then it is a
GDAL bug, not a QGIS one, and should be reported in the GDAL bugtracker.

Having read the thread about the new legend merge, I'm wondering if there
is a summary on how to work with it via Python.
I have a plugin that is broken as it relied on being able to move layers up
and down in the legend by grabbing a reference to the QTreeWiget (now gone)
and working with the Qt
Hi Etienne,
Thanks for having a look at this issue too.
The thing is that GDAL (or more precise OGR) opens SOSI files properly but QGIS
from OSGeo4W does not (this issue does not occur on Mac and Linux).
In QGIS the contained layers (points, lines, polygons) can be identified (we
