Thanks for the comprehensive response, Jürgen. Given that Travis (using ubuntugis/ubuntugis-unstable) installs QGIS 2.8.1 at the moment, I don't think I can get that to generate the OFTInteger64 output. Not a big problem - I'll just use 2.8 for this. Thanks again for all the help Tom -- View
