Okay, thanks Phil. Actually I was wanting to only have the title block
appear on selected pages, probably page 1 and not appear on the others. I'm
not sure if this would need to be done through programming, as in "if page
number equals 1, then visible". But changing for each page might be useful
Okay, that looks interesting. Does not seem to produce an Atlas type of
output but does seem powerful nonetheless in different ways.
Thanks again...

ciao martina,

Okay, thanks Andreas. I appreciate your advice. It sounds like the
reporting mode does not replace the atlas, is that correct? So maybe the
atlas feature in both versions is the same? I don't know if I need the
reporting mode for multi-page maps.
And regarding the versions, not sure why one would
About your other question: QGIS 3 also contains the Atlas mode from
version 2.18 - but the reporting mode exists in parallel to the normal
layout and atlas printing. So you have more choice. I am not experienced
with the reporting mode until now - but I will definitely try it soon.
Andreas
Hi,
You can easily install QGIS 3 in parallel with QGIS 2.18. They have
separate settings, plugins, etc. - no need to fear an upgrade.
They only thing you probably can't do is opening a 3.0 project in 2.18 -
esp. if you use new features of version 3 that haven't been available in
2.18.
Thank you, but no I haven't. I'm very leery of upgrading, especially when I
read all the sad stories how about components not working and installations
going sideways.
If this upgrade to Windows 7 is Bulletproof, maybe I'll give it a try. I
have always been confused by the plethora of
Hi Harrison,
Have you tried the new reporting mode in QGIS 3? It is pretty new - so
maybe it doesn't fit all requirements yet - but it allows you to have
section titles, footers and headers, etc. Maybe worth a try?

Andreas

Hello
Hello All,
I am able to create map books using the Atlas feature but do not need
the title block (text box) on every page.
Is there a method to control the content of each page (as in Manifold
GIS?)?
Thanks very much . . . .
