I think one option might be to put the data on something like geoserver, and utilise the geometry extent for each land parcel as a link to the web server from Access. So you will have a link in your access database to the web service something like:

Hi folks, Is it possible in QGIS to sort shapes (without topology) by area size and display it in this order (small area above largest area below)? In my shapes I can't see polygons small areas because the bigger areas overlap complete. Tranceparency is not the best way. ;-( THX, mikeE.
