You need to add the layer to overview by pressing the button with glasses (the

Hi!
I tryed the new version of fTools (0.4.1) for QGIS 1.0.0 preview over
WinXP SP3
All dialogs work fine before I load any ESRI Shapefile. But after I load
a single shape, all functions in fTools finish with different errors and
none of them works. I mean even the dialog doesn't show.

Hello QGIS Developers,
I have a problem with utf-8 encoding when working with python-qt.
UTF-8 works fine within python, but whenever I have to convert it to
QString, I have to call the method QString.fromUtf8()
Is there a more elegant or better solution for using utf-8 strings in

Proportional point symbols indeed ARE one of the most important cartographic
map types. If this gets implemented well in QGIS I am all for it. But please
take care to do it right then! One important thing to note:

these attempts behind. I'll let you know when this is removed, so you
can download it again

I can't fix the last serious bug in Installer. In case of SOME connection
problems, QHttp stays in memory endlesly and hangs QGIS when closing.
Are you sure it's QHttp, and not my QPHttp wrapper class? It may be
that the proxy object isn't
Hi,
I'm no programmer just a FOSS GIS/RS user. I know most plugins are
created via python. I'm just curious what can we do with the python
console? Any examples I can practice? I have learned a lot of bash
scripting by using GRASS. Maybe I can learn more python with the QGIS
python console.
