Hi Andreas,
the solution with a trigger sounds very interesting.
Could you please present more about it?
Thanks,

Hi Matej,
QGIS does not yet have a field calculator or a similar mechanism. But
since your data is in Postgis already, it is very easy to do it with
Postgis and SQL:

You can even set a row-level trigger so that the length gets
Hello,
I have a PostGIS table which has an attribute "length". I would like to have

when I click on the Identify Features and then select some line segment) to be
somehow "set" into the field length automatically. In

I wish to extract landuse from landsat images. Can somebody outline the steps

Declan,
I've found that the plugin is very picky about line endings. You will
need to use a text editor that can change your line endings from Mac to
another format such as DOS or a unix format. Of course, it would be nice
for the plugin to not care. I always forget this,
Agus, you're right, i need the plugin installer, for tools i found here
http://www.ftools.ca/cfarmerQgisRepo.xml and maybe for others.
Future users are enthusiast about using qgis and i need to extend the
possibilities.
So i ll install what is mentionned here

I've had success by creating a svg file of the symbol I want and placing
it in the SVG directory of my Quantum install.

Hi...
wich is the best way to create some kind of different style for outline
and fill into qgis?
I need to create some lines that have, for example, circles along the
line length, or some kinds of fill style like tringles or other
symbols...
thanks for your answer...

A slightly modified solution to installing QGIS from OSGeo4W (solved my problem
below):
1) Download the whole OSGeo4W tree as shown on
http://trac.osgeo.org/osgeo4w/wiki/InstallFromCD using rsyc, wget or other
appropriate tool. This needs to be done only once for your organisation. (Make
Hi Gavin
The extended Proxy options (possibility to choose the proxy type) are only in
1.1, not in the 1.0.x versions.

I've just installed QGIS 1.0.1 from OSGeo4W with Plugin installer 0.9.8 and
this issue is still present.
All remote repositories are unavailable and I can't see WMS and WFS
services, even though my proxy settings are correct in Options.
any tips?

Hi!
As I am detaching those windows from the main window this happens to me
frequently :-). You can activate the

Depending on your QGIS version and OS, there is the "Panels" item somewhere in
the menu.

I downloaded the 'CD equivalent' from

Hi Marco
No, there is no undo command in the edit tools (not even in QGIS at all). I
know that undo would be very handy, but the only way up to now is to regularly
save.

Is there an Undo-command while using the edit-tools (for shapaes) of QGIS?
I couldn't find a button and Ctrl-Z doesn't seem to work. There must be a
way to Undo if I moved a lot of objects but my last move was wrong (and of
course i didn't save my edits after each single move.
