Dear Mr. Andreas,
In fact I have been searching for the GUI with same functionality Custom
BoundingBox for the last couple of days as it is very important for my
work.
QGIS has a built-in tool available for this in TOOLS - RESEARCH TOOLS -
VECTOR GRID
But, I found it is not at all working
Hi,

into PostgreSQL (PostGIS), but failed to do so because the QGIS - GDAL GUI

Hi!
Is there anyway to export the qgis qml symbology file to the
equivalent format for shape files in arcview and/or arcgis?
(I think .avl and .style files, I don't use arc* at all).
Thanks

I don't think Agus, becasue AFAIK the esri layer files (.lyr) are a binary
closed format.

Can Arc* export to a (sort of) standard format?
In my view, converging towards a standard one (e.g. sld, with additional tags as
necessary) would be the way to go, in the long term.
I agree Paolo. ESRI supports SLD for its WMS servers, but it doesn't
provide an esport tool.
There was an effor with this project [1] but I don't know if it's
still alive and up-to-date.

Hi Andreas,
I tried the following option and it was successful.
First construct a grid with the following option by using the required max,
min lat-long values
TOOLS - RESEARCH TOOLS - VECTOR GRID
and you have to specified the grid spacing (otherwise, it will not take).
it will create a grid
Did ever anybody try to create a QuantumGIS Portable? I guess having a

In older Versions it was possible to just install QGIS on a USB-Stick

In the Print Composer window, doing a right-click on the toolbar shows a

Hi Micha
In version 1.4, the composer has a menu and so it is possible to get it back
by doing another right click at the menu bar.
In version 1.3 this was not possible.

Hi all.
We are busy improving the plugin:

we would like to set up a set of data for testing. Ideally they should be small
enough so that the analyses can run quickly, possibly in the same CRS, and
obviously
free to post around.
What we need:

We'll also provide test cases for modifications we're currently
implementing. Are there any time constraints?
not really, but I have some spare time before the end of the year, and I'd like

fix this

FYI, I forwarded this exchange to Alan Boudreault (UbuntuGIS
maintainer), and he indicated that the ldconfig step is not required for
MrSid since we use a static library (there is no shared lib available
for MrSid). In the ECW case, the ldonfig step is required, and he made a
note about this
Niether QGis can export sld nor Arc* can import it.
Symbology is still a chaos...

Thank you all, but I'm needing the other way around: I've generated
a layer with QGIS, have to export it as shape and want to
create the arcview legend file (avl ?)
