clicking and registring ordeal on their site i only got the 4.2 version.
yes, you need the 4.1 SDK. The bug with the 4.2 has been already
reported on the GDAL trac.

This may help you but it is a solution outside qgis. Try GpsBabel. You can
define the grid and datum for the conversion. When you export to universal csv
with field structure on the first line it honors the grid and datum of your
choice. Gps babel is free, also!!

This plugin seems not to work with Ubuntu 10.04.
Yes, I checked in QGIS manage plugin. It installed by I could see the
icon and the menu entry in QGIS.
I created a new shapefile and I toogle to edit. No icons showing in
the toolbar that resembled or look like this.
