Hi Jake, If you are just new to QGIS, just use QGIS without Grass plug-in first. Familiarize yourself with QGIS. Download and read QGIS manual. You can always install the Grass plug-in later. If you used ArcMap before and not ArcInfo, mostly like to you don't need Grass at the moment. Most of
