[Qgis-user] RE: Qgis-user Digest, Vol 75, Issue 17 - 2. Re: Help: GPS data not showing in correct position
For form's sake, I should start by renaming the CSV file to something that doesn't have spaces, et cetera, for example, 'GPS_Android_points_IKE.csv'. Next, swap the LONG and LAT column headers, these are the wrong way round. When loading the CSV file into QGIS set its CRS to EPSG:4326. Find
[Qgis-user] Mac - problem with python
Hi all, This issue has been discussed in previous threads but I can't seem be able to solve it, hence this e-mail. In my Macbook, whenever trying to run any python module I get an error. I'm pretty sure it has to do with different python versions installed in the system, but I do not know how

Hello, Qgis 1.7 compiled with GDAL / OGR (1.7.0 and superior) is very slow to load a big ogr layer (250Mb). The same file on Qgis 1.6 compiled with GDAL/OGR (1.5.4) opens in a few seconds. I suspect the version of GDAL / OGR, what do you think ? Thanks JONCHERE René
RE: [Qgis-user] labels
I now managed to turn the move and rotate label on, but only to have all labels disappear when I assign the fields in data defined settings (I guess because of the initial value of 0). How can I fill the coordinate fields with the initial values without having to enter all the values manually?

Re: [Qgis-user] large ogr layers slow to load
I have observed this from the point of view of two different graphical tools displaying vector data and using the same GDAL binary. QGIS is much slower than a simple renderer, I suspect that QGIS spends more time because of its complex visualization possibilities (which assumably have

RE: [Qgis-user] labels
Hi, I think I figured it out myself. When I create a field with the table manager it will place a 0 in the cell. I guess that this would need to be fixed. Unfortunately that's not the end of my questions on the issue. Now I need to duplicate a label, because some of my soils are
[Qgis-user] GDAL-Georeferencer, Dialog box not opening
Hi, I'm running QGIS version 1.7.3-Wroclaw and GDAL/OGR-Version 1.8.1 on a Windows Vista virtual machine I have used the georeferencer plugin many times in the past but today, clicking the georeferencer plugin doesn't result in any reaction of QGIS, i.e. the usual dialog box where you can load
[Qgis-user] QGIS GRASS plugin not working
Hello, I have a fresh install of QGIS 1.7.4 and GRASS 6.4.2. Both were installed via the OSGeo4W express installer. GRASS alone works fine and QGIS alone works fine. However, the QGIS GRASS plugin fails. I can't add GRASS vectors or rasters from pre-existing GRASS databases to QGIS. I also
Re: [Qgis-user] Warp raster layer, huge files ouput
GDAL has a warp option (-wo OPTIMIZE_SIZE=TRUE) to force the chosen compression scheme, the reprojection is smaller but the output files will be smaller. This options is not available in the georefencer or the warp plugin. Le 22/05/2012 16:02, Etienne Tourigny a écrit : Ahh I had misread-
[Qgis-user] User error or bug? (Vector Symetric Difference)
Hey, folks -- I'm a fairly new QGIS user trying to run the amusingly misspelled Symetric Difference vector tool against two vector layers. Unfortunately, whenever I do, the CPU spikes to 100% and QGIS seizes up, producing no output. Same problem with Union, though other Vector tools seem to
