options are okay, they don't provide the level of control I would like
over the colormap and using the colormap option with more than a dozen

You could try ArcGIS Online. It doesn't require silverlight. I think it
is Java based, but I am not certain. It does everything that explorer
does, except for presentations.

using qgis 1.8.0 windows 7 64 bit got some weird errors all of a
sudden with DB Manager and PostGIS Manager
