Hi,

In a Postgres/Postgis I have two tables, one with geographyc information

Hi!
Not a direct answer to your question, but an alternative:
What if you do the join on the database-level in making a view in
Postgres and using the view?

Hi all,
how I can convert data in following format to get decimal degrees.
50°96'06''2N/7°70'18''3O
50°96'39''9N/7°68'56''3O
50°95'72''9N/7°68'00''5O

Kartenbezugssystem: WGS84
Kartensphäroid: WGS84

I've a couple of issues using text annotation with 1.8.0 under Windows:
(1) Is there any way to turn this on and off for a project like a normal
layer? The only way I've found so far is to delete the items which isn't
very user friendly.
(2) In Print Composer the text annotation is displayed much
I'm not sure if they are milliseconds.

The real Point is about 80 km away.
The UTM UPS WGS84 koordinate system seems to be another than usual WGS84.

UTM/UPS are prjections which can be used to translate WGS84 lat/lon
coordinates to planar coordinates.
UTM is used for latitudes upt to 80 deegree (more or less), while UPS
(North/South) are used for higher latitudes, polar regions.
Coordinates in UTM/UPS would be metrics, while you're reporting
Hi
First, your data is kind of rare, you can not have more than 60 minutes or more
than 60 seconds (50°96'06''2N for instance). How did you get this info? a gpx
file or your field notes? (usually a gps stores data in lat lon wgs84, no
matter how you configure the unit to display the data). If
Gerardo, it was already explained... the problem with its coordinates is
that they don't overlay on its map. I suppose its map is in a different CRS
and the on the fly reprojection don't fit well because of trnasformations
parameters.
Anyway, yes, the milliseconds are unusale...

Create a view in not a solution in this case. Query can change and view
only offer a monolitic query. If you want search different options
with a view you can't.

Share Gerardo's confusion. How can you have a geographic ordinate like
50°96'06''2N, it doesn't make sense. Surely no GPS receiver would produce
Latitude-longitude coordinates with minutes (') or seconds () higher then 60
is not just unusual, as giovanni calls it, they're plain impossible.
So that suggest your data is corrupted, I suggest you go back to the source and
find out what has happened along the way...

If you are not afraid of SQL you can find this plugin useful:

Anyway, I was referring to having decimal of seconds...
