I´ve been looking to the issue using an Android for collecting GPS data.

give inspiration.

I think a page on preferred policy (or an update to the existing pages on the
website) regarding plugins would be good. Things have changed a little bit
regarding plugins over the last couple of years.
Something I would like to see included is that menu items are added in the code

You probably just have to install GRASS [1] and SAGA [2] because those
aren't included with QGIS. They are entirely separate software packages =)

The default path in QGIS should work, my QGIS package has an internal GRASS.
The path from that thread would only work if you have an external GRASS
installed. Do you have the latest QGIS 2.2? There was a packaging error in
early packages that killed GRASS.
