Can you tell us more about your data source? They are images? What bands
do you have?
Are you able to count the plants manually, from the data source? Can you
provide an example with plants highlighted?

I have figured it out. I'm using 3.8.2. If I open QGIS using the windows
option "Run as Administrator", drag and dropping any data (spatial or non
