Greetings,
I have read over the documentation for the Layout.
I have added a map to the layout.
The view of the map is dim or obscured as it was behind a semi
transparent skin.
When I export the layout as an image only a portion of the map is saved.
I looked for an option such as "Fit map to
I set the icon size for 32. Much better!

Greetings,
I cannot see how to create a Print Layout.
I found the info below but I do not see a "New Print Layout icon" or a
"File" menu.
Obviously I am missing something.

I would not contemplate using NFS on Windows as NFS support is not
native in Windows. It could create a lot of other issues. It is easier
for me in my situation to connect my single Windows computer to my
network via a separate Samba share.
Best outcome is to change working practices as per
Thank you for the suggestion - I always use the latest versions and this

Since your problem seems to vanish if your files are read-only: Are you
using a modern QGIS and GDAL? And were your GeoPackages created by that
combination? Older versions (and apparently GPKGs created by older
versions) used some kind of write-access to any opened GPKG, even if you

Thank you all who have responded over the weekend with helpful suggestions.
I wish I could use Linux on all the office computers but that is not
realistic. But what I have now learned is that a) I could try NFS on
Windows and b) there might be some hope in tweaking Samba. Both are
interesting
