Hi Michael, you can try Postgis. There is a function that fit the points into the closest geometry chosen, once you have this layer fitted, maybe you could try to calculate the distance between the points that have same ID, is not a direct solution, but maybe could help.

Hello Ken, maybe saving your picture as image and not as raster file could be the solution for you. You can find it in "Project-->Save as image". You will obtain a georreferenced light picture in png format or another. This should be more suitable for your purposes, than a Geotiff or
