I've tried downloading QGIS 2.18.3 several times now, and every time I've
tried to execute the installer, I get the error message that the Installer
integrity check has failed. I've tried most of the suggestions here:

You need to change your default Python to the one that qgis uses. You can
change that in the windows environment variables
