Dear QGIS community,

I found out that the *selection-color* is overridden by the QGIS project
setting. Changing the *selection-color *from QGIS's setting will not change
the QGIS project setting. So it seems the selection color in the QGIS
setting is only used for setting the default color for the *selection-color*.
Changing the selection color from the QGIS setting will not affect the
opened project. Users will need to update the *selection-color* on the
Project's setting.

Is it possible to set the *selection-color* to always the same as the QGIS
setting selection color?

I wonder if this kind of setting exists so that the user doesn't need to
change the project setting (especially in the shared project file). Perhaps
set the value to a variable (although I couldn't a variable that refers to
this *selection-color * setting) or just simply add a checkbox to use the
QGIS default color (and added it to the project file).

Thanks!

Best regards
