I know this has been asked before and I have read a few threads about this, but I still can't figure out what to do. I am using a 64 bit Windows 7 machine. I have uninstalled and reinstalled QGIS via the Advanced Install from OSGEO. I selected the library for filegdb to install with QGIS

This would be a nice feature - you should file a feature request for this. There would be a bit of work to do, because qgis does not skip any OGR drivers, so this would have to be added as well as the gui. Only the driver metadata is not (yet) available for ogr drivers, but description and
