Hi,
The attribute table is a 'view' on your data. The (technical) order of your
data is not important is it?
Anyway: you can click on the ID column to make the attribute table sort on ID
column (or click again to do a reverse sort)

Hello all,
I had to apply a "fix geometries" on a shapefile which worked fine.
However, it appears to move the fixed elements to the top of the table and
as a result the sequence is out of order, e.g.:

Is it possible to put things back in the correct order (by ID); 12 and 13
The 'primary key' for vector layer in QGIS could be any column that has
unique values for each feature. Using the fids as primary key is not a good
idea. I would recommend having a 'Parcel ID' column in your vector layer.
For a 1-to-1 join, you don't need to do anything special to designate that

Hi Gustavo,
It is a known issue and already fixed in master. So either compile

I wanted to know how to make the number of characters larger in a

I don't now if you can add an existing column. I think you need to create a
new column, beside the other and with right number of letter. Meny

It looks Wonderful !!
I cannot see the Attribute table in the QGIS Browser 2.6.0 (just the feature

I can see the Attribute table in the QGIS Desktop 2.6.0
Can you please suggest what I should do to correct this ?
I am running Windows 7
Press ctrl+super+up after selecting the attribute table window.
That should maximize it even if you can's see it.

Hi,
with the field calculator you can clone the column into a new one of
integer or decimal type.

Hi Orlando,
you can also use table joins to attach to your tables of attributes
already available tables (using a common field) and don't forget that
for helping fill the cells there are now the edit widgets.

yes you can,
just create a postgis polygon layer and add a trigger to the column

When you identify a polygon feature using the Identify tool, the area is

Hi Orlando,
if you are using shapefiles you can open the .dbf file with excel / open
office calc.
More in general you can select features, hit the select features
button, then paste into a text editor. You'll get a csv formatted file
you can easily open in excel / open office calc.

Good afternoon,
Does anyone know how to create a new column in a table of attributes of a

For this operation use Table Manager plugin.
There is Insert (new field) option.

It's idea for plugin or maybe built-in feature. I'm thinking about SQL
attribute editor, for tasks like search replace value in table, or
fill data field for all objects with the same value.
