I opened a QGIS file made from V2.2.0 in Brighton v2.6.0. When I tried to save
it I got a message, I don't remember in specific complaining about not able to
retrieve the file form temp folder. Now the original and only file I try to

You should have a backup copy with a ~ appended to the name.
