[Qgis-user] Evaluation of data in two shapefiles

2017-04-18 Thread Anke zur Gölden
Hello,

first of all thank you for taking me to the list.

I have the following issue i would like to solve in QGIS.

I have two different vector based layers. Both layers are
nearly similiar and have coordinates, attributes etc. and
based on LineString

In the first layer i would like to select a specific LineString
and in the second layer all the data are compared to the
selected LineString and the results shown in the table.

example:
I select in the layer 1 a LineString element with coordinates
and the attribute „color“ = red.
Now all the LineStrings in the Layer 2 shall be checked if
the same color is set or not and so

I hope my general question is clear so far.

Is that possible in QGIS and if yes how the easiest way to do?

Anke

I'm not sure I completely understand what you want but you could run
multipart to singleparts from the Vector/Geometry Tools menu on the
multilinestring layer to generate a layer with just linestrings.

[Qgis-user] QGIS Loads Black Screen For PostGIS Out-Db Raster Data

2017-04-18 Thread Osahon Oduware
Hi All,

I have an out-db raster on PostGIS which I tried to load in QGIS (v
2.14.12-Essen) utilizing the DB Manager to establish a connection. I could
view the raster table, but when I try to "Add to canvas" it displays a
black screen instead of the raster image.

I would be glad if someone could help me to resolve this.

[Qgis-user] General question about best approach

2017-04-18 Thread phi73
Hello

i have a very general question:
I am becoming more and more familiar with QGIS and thinking about to run
some own analysis.
Now i am not sure how to go on the best.

The key issue is that i have data in two different layers (a link with an
attribute)
and i want to compare them (if similar or not or any other mathematical
calculation)
and show the result in a table or sth like that.

So how to start the best with so that i can improve my knowledge step by step
in this way.

Thanks

Hi!

I never got that deep into LRS but to my knowledge you can include
points that are "near" a line and reference them.
While Qchainage is strictly bound to measure distances along a feature.

[Qgis-user] LRS (Linear Referencing System Plugin)

2017-04-18 Thread Tyler Veinot
Hello;
Has anyone used the Linear Reference System Plugin in QGIS aka LRS Plugin?
I would like to display events as points and lines based on measured
distances along a linear feature. I can get lines working with an event
table with; Route_ID, Measure_From, Measure_To fields but I cannot seem to
display point events. I tried Route_ID and Measure fields and Route_ID with
the Measure_To and Measure_From valves as the same number but no go.
Anyone using LRS to display point events?

· select just the parts of the current layer that you want to save
(CTRL and select the parts)

· right click on the layer name and save as

· tick the box for 'save only selected features'

Re: [Qgis-user] New layer from current view

2017-04-18 Thread Fuenfer-Koenigstein.Benjamin
Hi Pat,

do you want to clip your layer to current canvas extend? You can do that by
creating a new (temporary) polygon layer, create a rectangle that represents
your canvas extend and use Vector -> Geoprocessing Tools -> Intersection. Maybe
not the most elegant way but should work. Alternatively you can do some
scripting that uses current canvas extend.

[Qgis-user] Join multiple Linestrings to single Linestring

2017-04-18 Thread Fuenfer-Koenigstein.Benjamin
Hi there,

I want to merge multiple linestrings with same start/endpoint to a single
linestring (all lines within one layer). As I use a PostGIS source with
geometry type linestring, it is important that the new geometry is still
linestring and not multilinestring type. "Merge selected features" tool and
"JOIN" in QAD-Plugin both create multilinestrings. Has anyone an idea how to
directly merge into linestring or how to change geometry type after merging?
Thanks for your suggestions!
