Re: [Qgis-user] qgis 2.0 does not respect labels' scale-based visibility option when opening existing 1.9 projects
Hi Duarte, Can someone confirm? What I'm seeing is QGIS not turning on this option, but still maintaining the scale range values. It should open the project and keep the scale-based visibility option turned on it seems to work fine with new projects, maybe there is something wrong with projects created before the labeling overhaul of the last weeks. Can you confirm? cheers -- Giovanni -- ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user
Re: [Qgis-user] qgis 2.0 does not respect labels' scale-based visibility option when opening existing 1.9 projects
I can confirm this issue. The min/max scales are set but disabled because the checkbox is turned off. It is a migration issue of old projects. Did you submit a bug? Re: [Qgis-user] Duplicate Points from Extract Nodes
You might be right - it is just the OGC Simple Features Specification. But for practical use (except perhaps some error testing) I can't see any use of the duplicate point. Unless you have made the polygons yourself you will not know which point is the start (and end) point and I see no practical use of this knowledge? In my use I extracted nodes from building polygons from a whole municipality and ended up with about 195000 points. I managed to make the MMQgis plugin Delete duplicate Geometries delete the about 6 duplicated points but it took the most of a day to do this! - Regards Morten Qgis 1.8.0 Stand alone installer in Win7 64 bit -- View this message in context: http://osgeo-org.1560.x6.nabble.com/Duplicate-Points-from-Extract-Nodes-tp5059332p5059632.html Sent from the Quantum GIS - User mailing list archive at Nabble.com. ___ Qgis-user mailing list Qgis-user@lists.osgeo.org http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/qgis-user

[Qgis-user] creation of .gpx is not straightforward
Hi The process for creating .gpx is a bit cumbersome in my opinion. Users have to the following: To create waypoints: Data source: GPX_USE_EXTENSIONS=YES GPX_EXTENSIONS_NS=YES To create tracks: Data source: GPX_USE_EXTENSIONS=YES GPX_EXTENSIONS_NS=YES: and Layer creation field FORCE_GPX_TRACK=YES Uploading and downloading gps waypoints and tracks is a standard procedure (at least) for biologists and archaeologists and in IMHO it is not smooth in QGIS because of this. Would it be hard to program these options by default when creating a gpx? Or maybe add this functionality to GpsTools? If more users feel the same way I'll open a feature request. [Qgis-user] change CRS of WFS layer
Hi All Does anyone know of a way to change the crs of a wfs layer? The 'Add WFS Layer' dialog box has a 'Change' button but it does not allow you to alter the CRS at all. The data set I am trying to access is from LINZ http://data.linz.govt.nz/ and according to their notes it is possible to alter the CRS within the request - as per quote copied from their help notes: The easiest way to re-project your data on the fly is to add the ‘SRSName’ parameter and an EPSG coordinate system id http://www.epsg-registry.org/ to your request: SRSName=SRSName For example, a request of a NZ Government GNSS CORS layer in NZTM2000http://www.linz.govt.nz/geodetic/datums-projections-heights/projections/new-zealand-transverse-mercator-2000 (EPSG:2193) would look like the following: http://wfs.data.linz.govt.nz/ your-API-key/v/x1029/wfs?service=WFSrequest=GetCapabilities* SRSName=EPSG:2193* So it is possible but QGIS currently seems to not allow it? Does anyone know of a way to override this? Note - downloading and re-projecting is not a solution in this case, I want the dataset (legal title boundaries) streamed live to various users. If I leave it in it's current CRS (4167) which is unprojected, it displays correctly when using on-the-fly reprojection within QGIS, but then trying to access the $area for a label or using the identify tool crashes QGIS. Am using Windows version, version 009a7d on Win 8 and also tried latest build from a couple of nights ago on a Win 7 machine. Any help appreciated. Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS with SAGA in macos
I don't remember if there was an error running SAGA commands when I was checking things out. I do remember that compiling SAGA 2.0.x was a problem on OS X and 2.1 dev source or RC is required. I only tested the theissen polygons that Sextante uses as a test for the presence of SAGA. What SAGA command are you running, and is it from Sextante (in QGIS), or in SAGA (not in QGIS)? Where did you get your SAGA - did you compile from source, or was a binary from somewhere? I compiled just the commands, without any GUI or python, neither used in sextante.
