Thanks for the screencast. After you've opened the dev tools with F12, can
you click the Console tab? If there are any JS errors, that's where they'll

[Qgis-user] Find text string in old Maps

2016-03-08 Thread Richard McDonnell

Fellow QGIS users,

I have rasters of old maps covering the entire country, what I would
like to do is search the raster for a specific line of text, and
generate a point file for every instance of the text found.
I know in theory this should be possible, I was wondering if any one has
done it, or does anyone have any suggestions?
The text style and size would be uniform, along with the wording, the
only thing liable to vary is the orientation. I thought about running a
classification on the raster, training it to look for the pattern, but
thought I might put it out there, as someone of you may have a better
suggestion.

Regards & thanks,

Richard.

I think one option might be to put the data on something like geoserver, and utilise the geometry extent for each land parcel as a link to the web server from Access.

So you will have a link in your access database to the web service something like:

"http://localhost/geoserver/landparcels/wms?service=WMS=1.1.0=GetMap=opw:osi_2500p==3,19000,334000,458500=531=768=EPSG:29903=application/openlayers"

The coordinates shown above, in BOLD, would be the bottom left and top right extents of the land parcel.
The reason I suggest this, is that creating a link to a project in Quantum is easy, the additional zoom to the land parcel requirement is a little more difficult to do.
It is one option!!

Richard

grazie, ciao,
giuliano

Re: [Qgis-user] OpenGeo QGIS tutorial - publishing fails

2016-03-08 Thread Luigi Pirelli
Hi Hanlie

Yes, probably that part of documentation have to be updated.
OpenGeo plugin, since months has been substitute with Geoserver explorer plugin.
You should install it using common Plugin Manager.

https://plugins.qgis.org/plugins/geoserverexplorer/

Check if you replicate the error with the new plugin version.

From OpenGeo plugin, the Postgis and QGIS Project parts has been
removed to use the standard QGIS functions (DB Manager and Browser).

[Qgis-user] how to import processing.py from outside QGIS?

2016-03-08 Thread Uwe Fischer
Hello,

I' m trying to access commands from the processing toolbox from outside a
QGIS Session via Python. I found an example made by Ujaval Gandhi
(spatialthoughts.com) which contains the following:

# Add the path to Processing framework

sys.path.append('c:\\Users\\myUsername\\.qgis2\\python\\plugins')

# Import and initialize Processing framework

from processing.core.Processing import Processing

Processing.initialize()

import processing

That did not work for me (in QGIS 2.12 and 2.14), I got an error message
"Import error: no module named processing.core.Processing".

I checked the path and found that there is no file "Processing.py" in that
folder under .qgis2. So I wonder how it should be found there?

Now, I started to look for the file myself using the command window MS-DOS:
dir /s processing.py, and the file was found in:

Verzeichnis von C:\Program Files\QGIS Essen\apps\qgis\python\processing\core

Processing.py  15.578 Bytes ...

I tried that path for sys.path.append() in the above code and got the same
error as before.

Then, I started QGIS (by the way: I started it just as a check. I'd like to
create a script that works from outside QGIS).

In the QGIS Python console, it' no problem to import processing. That means
that it is present on the computer. So I checked the path that is used here:

import sys

print sys.path

I got a very long confusing list, but the only entry containing the string
"processing" is:

'C:/PROGRA~1/QGISES~1/apps/qgis/./python/plugins\\processing'

So I thougt that this must be the path to import processing.

But trying exactly that in the above code, I got the same error as above.

Now, my questions are:

what did I do wrong? where is Processing.py to be found?

Why did my search produce wrong results? Am I wrong in assuming that I have
to provide the path to "Pythonfile.py" if I want "import Pythonfile" to
work??

Thanks and regards, Uwe

Re: [QGIS-it-user] Plugin funzioni BIM in QGis??

2016-03-08 Thread G. Allegri
ecc.).
