Buongiorno Stefano,
disattivando l’utilizzo del proxy, potrebbe non permettere di accedere ad 
internet dal PC.
Non conosco l’impostazione della tua rete aziendale, ma sembrerebbe che abbiate 
configurato all’interno della rete, un dispositivo firewall che faccia anche da 
proxy, così da filtrare i contenuti internet accessibili dagli utenti, e nel 
contempo accelerare la consultazione di siti utilizzati spesso.
Se il sistema WMS al quale accedi, è interno, potresti configurare il proxy sul 
PC in modo che non venga eseguito per la rete LAN interna.
Altra opzione, configurare il Proxy (non sul PC, ma sul device stesso), con 
delle regole ad-hoc.

Mio primo Win 10 (da qualche giorno). Tile XYZ e repository plugin funzionava 
ma il sistema WMS no. Ho disattivato i proxy e ora sembra che vada tutto bene.
P.S. quali possono essere le eventuali limitazioni che posso aspettarmi, in 
generale, a prescindere dall'uso di QGIS, dall'aver disattivato i proxy?

La soluzione ideale è importare dei file xyz.  Ci sarebbe il comando grass 
r.in.xyz ma finoba qualche mese fa non era supportato dal processing di QGIS.

[Qgis-user] Data defined assistant apparently does not work with buffer tool

Hi QGIS'ers

I am experiencing a problem while trying to generate vector buffers 
using functions or fields using the "assistant".


The buffer tool works as expected for fixed buffer widths and when using 
the expression editor but seemingly does not work (or produces weird 
scaling problems) for data defined buffers if I use the "assistant".


I see in GitHub this has been reported for the symbology editor but it 
seems that it also affects the buffer tool. I am using QGIS 3.10.0.


Has anyone also experienced this?

Thanks for answering.

The timeouts I experience are associated with updates and inserts, i.e. 
transactions, not with initial fetching of data.

I'm only trying to ascertain, whether our observations about timeout settings 
not being respected are valid or not.

And yes, the timed out transaction do continue to be processed on the server 
(which is Geoserver btw), so it's not a server timeout issue.

I haven't seen your initial posts, but did you confirm that the WFS GetFeature 
request actually runs when you do it manually, through your browser?

A lot of times the timeout happens at the server end (and not at the 
client/QGIS end).  Here is a test with the MapServer engine (not sure what is 
driving your own WFS instance) :

For example, this will take a few minutes but will return all features in your 
browser: 
https://demo.mapserver.org/cgi-bin/wfs?SERVICE=WFS=1.0.0=getfeature=continents
  That confirms there is no timeout issue on the server end.

So then I started QGIS (an old 3.8 on this machine), zoomed out to world 
extents and then added the 'continents' layers from that WFS service: 
https://demo.mapserver.org/cgi-bin/wfs?

It took my local QGIS several minutes, or more, there was a nice progress bar, 
but eventually all features loaded. (I have not modified the ini file that you 
mentioned)

I am not sure where you see this 60second limit in QGIS.
