Hi Mike,
Right click on the Layer, select Properties and go to Symbology. From there you
should see, at the top, a drop down menu set to Single Symbol. You should
change this to Categorize. Then under Value, set this to the Counties name
field. Then click on Classify.
I hope that helps.
Hello,
we have provided a free open source Tool "MapQonverter" which can write
QGIS project files from ArcMap project files. The only thing is, the
tool is an ArcMap Toolbox, so ArcMap will be needed to use it - that
is the main difference to SLYR from NorthRoad which can read mxd files -
An extension to this question. SLYR is not free. By any chance, are you
aware of any open source plugin or tool to accomplish this task?
Regards.

Actually -- just to clarify. SLYR
Unfortunately, due to the lack of QGIS "documenters", the documentation
main focus is in the users manual and the training manual is lagging behind
QGIS Development.
There's a testing version that is where the changes are being written, but
not sure if that section is updated

ArcGIS pro map is a binary (non-human-readable) proprietary format. Which
means that, apart from ESRI, no one knows how to read and write those files.
So, no. You can't.

I'm working through the QGIS Training manual 3.16, module 14.8. In 14.8.1 &
14.8.2, there are discrepancies between the instructions and the
application.
Specifically, an 'Advanced Interface' pull down is not available in the
Processing toolbox, and I'm unable to locate the 'Tools for Lidar data'

Jeff,
I can replicate the problem. I have an idea about what may be wrong. I will
get this working, but I am not sure when. Hopefully, this week, but if not
probably next week.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

Well, since I knew I had just exported something fine last week I went and

Jeff,
I tried points and polygons with graduated symbols and both worked. If you
are using an unsupported style and not just a basic type of style it will
fail although if it is a point layer it can handle more complex styling
because KML Tools exports the icons as png images. Much of the QGIS
I'm positive KML Tools worked perfectly fine before in exporting the Symbology
style (some Categories of various colors and transparency) the same as visible
in QGIS. But now everything comes out one style/color rather than the ones
they are supposed to be. I still have the box checked for
Hi,
In your Styling, set it to Categorized and select the field which has your
County Names.
Click Classify and you should get the full list of Counties. You can then
modify your style to match your requirements.

Hi,
When I am extending an existing line with the vertex tool (by enabling
the vertex tool and clicking on the small "plus" symbol), can I then
still activate the "tracing" functionality to follow along other
features?
If yes, I haven't found out how - any hints would be appreciated a lot!
