Nice to know that tool did in fact exist. Just right click on the layer and you should be able to define the layer crs. Do not use “save as” or “export” to do this as such options would reproject the file in a new crs. You first need to correct or specify the proper crs. Maybe it’s in the

Hi David Just to Clarify Richards comments.  A shape file is a collection of files, all with the same prefix.  At a minimum, you should have 3 files, *.shp, *.shx and *.dbf.  There may also be a few more files as well depending on how the file was created.  You may just have the  *.shp file
