Re: [QGIS-it-user] Problemi con Georeferenziatore (Risolto)

Ciao a tutti,
confermo che con la creazione di un nuovo profilo utente (come suggerito da
Andrea Giudiceandrea) la georeferenziazione è stata effettuata senza
problemi.
Grazie Andrea e Gabriela Osaci-Costache per il supporto ricevuto.

This is (unfortunately) expected -- Python 3.9 broke some API
compatibility, so the older QGIS 3.18 release ISN'T compatible with
the newer Python version. As you've concluded, the solution is
updating to a newer, supported QGIS version.

Re: [Qgis-user] QGIS 3.24 Ubuntu

2022-04-21 Thread Piet via Qgis-user
Hello Angeles,

For your second question: Maybe you can compile an older version of Qgis by
using  Github

https://github.com/qgis/QGIS

How to uninstall Qgis is depending on the way you use to install it before, I
guess.

But it would be possible to use different versions of Qgis as well (Keep your
actual version
and compile Qgis in a separate folder).

Kind regards

Piet

[Qgis-user] QGIS 3.24 Ubuntu

2022-04-21 Thread Angeles Raphaël Saul via Qgis-user
Dear QGIS community,

I have two questions : Do you know how to install easily pcraster on ubuntu ?
How can I uninstall the latest version of QGIS 3.24 and get an older version of
QGIS on ubuntu ?

Situation : I am a recent ubuntu user and I need to install pcraster for
advanced watershed calculations. Apparently it is possible to install it using
anaconda-navigator, so I first needed to install anaconda using this tutorial :
https://gisunchained.wordpress.com/2019/05/29/using-qgis-from-conda/. But once
QGIS 3.18.3 installed and opened, any plugin utilization do not work at all.
For example, applying strahler order tool from SAGA on a DEM does not work.
Every time, the python error is :

WARNINGTraceback (most recent call last):

File
"/home/raphael/anaconda3/envs/demonstration/share/qgis/python/plugins/processing/gui/AlgorithmDialog.py",
 line 194, in runAlgorithm

self.cancelButton().setEnabled(self.algorithm().flags() &
QgsProcessingAlgorithm.FlagCanCancel)

TypeError: setEnabled(self, bool): argument 1 has unexpected type 'Flags'

Thus I tried to install QGIS 3.24 via this link
https://www.qgis.org/en/site/forusers/alldownloads.html#debian-ubuntu to see if
the problem can be resolved with a more recent version. The problem is that
this tutorial is not for a conda environment, so now I want to uninstall 3.24
to go to an older and more stable version and I don't know how to do it. If I
install and uninstall QGIS, the version 3.24 still appears. Moreover, I still
don't have pcraster installed and operational which I need the most.

Thank you in advance for your precious answer and have a good night!

Re: [Qgis-user] Activating ESRI geodatabase (.gdb) write mode in QGIS, OGR2OGR or Python

2022-04-21 Thread Nicolas Cadieux via Qgis-user

Hi,

Does anybody know how "Aliases" are saved in this type of data base?  If
I import files from a dataset, it has aliases for each layer but they
are not exported if I create a new "database". Perhaps this feature is
not fully supported yet as aliases are normally save in the QGIS project
file?

Thanks for the tips!

[Qgis-user] Mean distance between points

2022-04-21 Thread Chavoux Luyt via Qgis-user
Hi everyone,

I am pretty sure that this is something that is used regularly, but I could
not figure out how to do it. Basically we have a bunch of camera points
(vector point data layer) and want to calculate the mean distance between
the points (as well as the minimum and maximum distance between
neighbouring points). Is there a specific tool or plugin that can do this
automatically? Obviously I could use the measure line tool and do it
manually as a last resort, but I would prefer not.

... special ... the discussions around it are spread across tens of
messages, accessible via arcane and hard-to-navigate websites that might
not even be indexed nicely by search engines.

Anyways, just some days ago this was discussed once again on the
qgis-developer list:
https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/qgis-developer/2022-April/064661.html

In this case you are lucky that the discussion has not gone into another
month yet so you should be able to click on "Next message (by thread)"
to see the discussion bit-by-bit. I'd recommend checking the threaded
view too though
https://lists.osgeo.org/pipermail/qgis-developer/2022-April/thread.html
because someone might have decided to branch off into another thread
with a different mail subject.

If you want to reply, you cannot use your account on the qgis-user

No, I don't like mailing lists, thanks for asking! >:( ;)

Hei everybody!

I am trying to develop a QGIS plugin, and the plugin requires python
modules that are not present in the basic QGIS python install. Since i
want these packages to install for users that might wish to use the
plugin, what method would be the correct one to install the
dependencies? I am thinking that some users might have multiple python
installs at once, multiple pythonpaths etc.

1. Method using setup.py when installing the module. But how would
that run? or when would it run? Very open for suggestions here.
2. Using subprocess with a try and except clause: prone for errors,
since any python instance might be called :

import sys
    import subprocess

# implement pip as a subprocess:
subprocess.check_call(['python', '-m', 'pip', 'install',
''])
3. Using pip.main, which seems to warn about a deprecation
possibilities for the future

import pip
pip.main(['install', package])

Method 1 could run one time at the plugin install, whilst methods 2
and 3 would run at every plugin load.

How do you go about adding dependencies to your package?

Kind regards,
Robert Nagy

[Qgis-user] Metadata management in Geopackages

2022-04-21 Thread bernardo ziliotto via Qgis-user
Hi,
I am completely new in Qgis and i don't know if there is a way to find
answer to previous questions in this mailing list (in that case please show
me the way and excuse me).
I am preparing geopackages compliant with Inspire, i have my xml metadata
associated to every table, but i did not find a way to associate xml
metadata with QGIS (is it possible?).
I have made the association with DB Browser SQlite by using the gkpg
metadata extension, creating gkpg_metadata and gkpg_metadata_reference
tables according to the following scheme:

http://www.geopackage.org/guidance/extensions/metadata.html

that should be the standard for geopackages, but when I open my gpkg with
QGIS I cannot see metadata associated with my features.

Is that normal? Any suggestions? I know that QGIS have a method to generate
metadata, but i would like to use standard metadata already prepared in xml.

Thank you, Bernardo.

No, that's where kyngchaos used to put his builds.

The automatic builds land under

https://download.qgis.org/downloads/macos/

Old versions are in

https://download.qgis.org/downloads/macos/pr/

or

https://download.qgis.org/downloads/macos/ltr/

[Qgis-user] Mac OS QGIS installer 3.16

2022-04-21 Thread Sebastian Gutwein via Qgis-user
Hello,
I have a student that is trying to install QGIS on her Mac OS. Neither the
latest or the long term version are working for some reason. In the fall
she had 3.16 installed and wanted to try to install it again in case there
was an issue with the latest version. However we can't seem to find 3.16 in
the official repository. I would assume because it was after the switch
from the KyngChaos builds they would be in the QGIS repository here:
https://download.qgis.org/downloads/macOS/ but I only see up to 3.8. Should
I then point her to the KyngChaos version?
