[Qgis-user] Floating point to Integer

Hello users,

How ca I turn a floating point raster to a integer raster by rounding them
(i.e 3,25 = 3)?

I'm trying to do some mapalgebra but it doesn't seem to work. Is it because
some layers have floating point data?

Any help welcome

Hello Again,

Altough this is a QGIS maillist, maybe someone can give me a hint about
this.
I want to generate a new raster from the following expression (using
r.mapcalculator from GRASS plugin):

A*0.5+B*0.05+C*0.2+D*0.2+E*0.05

All rasters are integer16 geotiff anda have the same resolution. I just get
this message:

r.mapcalculator ama...@permanent bma...@permanent

explore *Optical character recognition (OCR).

  I noted something else, by opening the attribute table in LibreOffice
 Calc or Excel. Several names in the second column contain strange
 characters, which are invisible in QGIS (e.g.: MExRTOLA en ESPIxRITO SANTO;

raster format? (other than making a print screen and manually create a .wld

I've come across a problem while installing Value Tool Plugin.
The ecosystem is: Windows 7 Ultimate; QGIS 1.7.3 (Standalone installer)

[Qgis-user] Open Layers Plugin Error

The second problem I encountered is when installing Open Layers.

folder configurations for R and Orfeo?
I installed OTB throug osgeo4w and R throygh binaries, but I'm not getting
the right folder configurations!

Any hints would be very helpfull! (Win 7)

 Those are saved by R to the Rout file in the sextante folder (in

 not very serious (they are not in the execution, but in the design),
 so should not be hard to fix.

 For R:

 First install packages sp and rgdal and then if you are using R2.11
 copy them to:

[Qgis-user] nviz error

Hi everyone,

I'm having this error (see attachment), everytime I try to start nvix from
GRASS plugin.
I reinstalled tcl from osgeo4W, but the error persists.

However if I start nviz engine from GRASS GIS everything goes well. Any
idea of what might be wrong?

This occurs on a Win7 64bits on both 1.8 and master versions.

[Qgis-user] R through SEXTANTE Plugin

Hello list!

I'm having a hard time configuring R in SEXTANTE for Quantum GIS (Win7
64bits)

I have R installed, and also packages SP and RGDAL on*
 ~Documents\R\win-library\2.15\*
*
*
I don't know if I'm still missing some component, but assuming all I need
is installed, I'm not getting  the correct folder configurations . This is
what I have:

*Scripts Folder:* *C:\Users\Andre\Documents\New folder\r\scripts*
*R folder*: *C:\Program Files\R\R-2.15.1\bin\x64*

Are this configurations correct? If so any hint of what might be missing?

[Qgis-user] Sextante plugin broken

At the end of  SEXTANTE Plugin iinstallation  receive this message:

If I keep the installation, everytime I start QGIS or if I try to activiate
the plugin from the Manage plugins menu I get this log:

Problem Solved - I downloaded the latest build from Sextante Repository and
pasted in .qgis/python/plugins/sextante

 try removing the plugin folder, and maybe installing it manually
 downloading the code from the svn repository (so you'll get the latest
 fixes).

Do you refer to component *tcltk: TCL / TK* available from osgeo4w
installer under *Libs*? If so, yes I have it installed.

Has anyone here had any sucess configuring R for SEXTANTE in Linux (Ubuntu
distro)?
I have R-Base 2.15 installed, but R scripts dont work.

Do I have to add something to the Path? Wath should I add?

But in Linux there's only the R-scripts Folder - are you refering to that
one?
I though that the purpose of that directory was simply to store scripts.

 You have to add the path to R scripts on the SEXTANTE options.

[Qgis-user] Error Loading GDAL Plugin

Hi!

My name is Andre Mano, and i'm carrying a project on paleontological
sites in western Portugal, and i'm using QGIS. The overaal experience
has been great, however I came across a problem I don't know how to
solve.

When I try to load GDAL tools plugin i get the following error message: 

The plugin depends on some components missing on your system. You need
to install the following Python module in order to enable it: osgeo

What component is this? I'm using ununtu 9.10 with QGIS 1.4. Presently I
only have on GIS repository active - ubuntu unstable.

Can someone help me please?

[Qgis-user] Problem solved/ pen and touch table

I now leave another question to the community - Does anyone has had any
sucess in using pen  touch table with qgis? I know that under windows
it works, but want to use it under ubuntu. 

I mailed one malefactor (Bamboo), asking for drivers but still
nothing... Does anyone know of such a device with working drivers for
ubuntu?

Does anyone has a guide for installing qgis2google plugin under linux (

The developer site has instructions, but i'm too rookie to understand it...
I tried to follow the instructions but the only thing I achieved was to have
to reinstall qgis!! :) Does anyone has an installation guide for dummies? :)

Hello,

I'm having a hard time with OpenStreetMap Plugin  - no matter how small the
area it always replies Booth Extents Are Too Large.

Is it because my project isn't using geographic coordinates? (I'm using
cartographic coordinates - ETRS89 tm06 Portugal [EPSG 3763])?
If so, does that mean that I can only retrive information if my project is
in wgs84?

[Qgis-user] Upgrading trough changesets

Hi all,

I have QGIS Trrunk r13619M and I would like to upgrade to
13681http://trac.osgeo.org/qgis/changeset/13681in order to include a
recent fix (
#2788 http:///usr/share/qgis/grass/modules). I downloaded the fix files
but I don't know how to proceed! :)
The .zip file comes with the following tree:

trunk/qgis/src/plugins/grass

And on my computer I have the following direcory (wich has some files with
the same name as those of the downloaded .zip)

/usr/share/qgis/grass/

Now, I suppose this isn't just a question of copy paste right?

Any lights please?

[Qgis-user] removing qgis

Hi all,

I found myself in a very complicated situation. My qgis (Trunk r13619m),
just stopped work! When I add a vector or open an existing project it just
crashes!
I removed it through Synaptic and reinstalled 1.4 but the 1.4 comes full of
weird bugs. So I tried to upgrade to 1.5 Trunk but the initial problem was
still there!

Ho can I completely remove any trace of QGIS from the computer so that when
I reinstall it, the new installation doesn't came whit old habits?

Ubuntu 9.10 here,

It was smooth and clean!

I just removed the QGIS.conf file (I didn't touch the plugin folders) affter
unistalling, and then I reinstalled it again and QGIS is back to life!

[Qgis-user] Value Tool

Many of you certainly know that under the most recent revisions of QGIS
Trunk, the plugin Value Tool doesn't work under GRASS rasters.

I understand it's a 3rd party plugin, so we can't expect qgis developers to
fix that. Nevertheless does anyone knows if the developer of this great tool
is still on it or is it an abandoned project? If so, maybe it would be a
good idea to think on a similar tool to be included on the next release.
It's just that making raster analysis without this tool can be very
frustrating...

I suppose qgis works with 3d batimetric values. In those cases how to tell
the program the altitude is under sea level? We create a field in attribute
table and add the minus (-) prefix to the altitude level? Something like
this:

 don't know the answer but I have another question related to these one.

Why is it when I use the aspect tool of GRASS (r.slope.aspect) the results
are given from the East in a counterclockwise?! (i.e East is 0º, North is
90º and so on...)

I only realized this because I always check the results, but I bet there are
many people out there who assume that 360º/0º is North and are having
inconsistent results

 Why is it when I use the Measure angle tool(grouped with the info
 tool), if I draw a line from 0 and then run the cursor around it a clockwise
 circle, the measured value goes  0 to 180 and  -179 to -1 to 0, I want to
 measure the obtuse angle like a compass, 0-360. nothing in the help files. I
 have no clue if this is a built in plugin or add-in.

 Also, I can't seem to get the Azimuth and distance plugin tool(0.8.5) to
 work.  I want to draw a line that is true North. NO instructions on their
 website.

 And I'm using these to compare true north to magnetic north as
 georeferenced raster files. The raster files are drawn to magnetic north,
 with lines going to the 4 cardinal points as magnetic, but my base map
 projection is in True North(+proj=utm +zone=10 +ellps=WGS84 +datum=WGS84
 +units=m +no_defs). I want to georeference using magnetic bearings.  I know
 the declination and the base map(geotiff) is correct.

and all went fine!

Although I understand your concern about making it public, I think it's

  Hello List,

 I've created a simple plugin that allows to view the structure of a
 shapefile (X-, Y-coords alongside its attributes) and while at it I've also
 added the capability to edit the geometry and attributes and save back to
 the shapefile.

 A corollary is that if you want to add a point by typing its coords you can
 do it with the plugin (as André aka ALT SHN has suggested). You can even
 create a new shapefile in QGIS and use the plugin to type in coords and
 attributes or paste them from the clipboard.

 Points, lines and polygons shapefiles can be manipulated.

 BUT, I feel it is a quite dangerous plugin to release in a public repo
 because of the potential damages bad edits can do on a shapefile!

 I would thus be very grateful if the most intrepid amongst you could test
 it and give comments on its usefulness...

[Qgis-user] Sextante Modeler - r.reclass problem?

Hi,

I've been testing Sextante toolbox in QGIS 2.0.1 (from OSGEO4W installer),
and for the most part it seems to be ok, However i've come to a problem
that always causes qgis to freeze (not-responding state).

This happens if I use r.reclass in my model. Can anyone please give it a
try using the model attached to this message?

(Win7 64bits)

With new thread off, QGIS does not freeze, but the model does not finish
the analysis.
Anyway, appart from the Graphical Modeler, SEXTANTE is much more stable and
usable!
And will undoubtedly became a major thing - thanks Victor!

 There is a known bug in windows with models freezing the UI. Can you
 try going to the configuration and setting the Run algorithms in a
 different thread option to off? That usually helps

Today I was on a QGIS training session with 20 computers all runing windows
32/64bits and Open layers plugin has done well, with more than one layer
delivered and being put on/off.

However ALL the computers had QGIS 2 installed through OSGEO4W installer.
Maybe it's a standalone installation problem?

Hi,

(This is a little off topic, sorry for that - any eventual replies please
private me so we don't create more noise on the list)

I need the shapefiles of the Enterprize Zones of Texas, Colorado,
Louisiana, New Mexico e Missouri. Does anyone knows if this is
downloadable? Or even better can someone send me the shapefiles?

Has far as I know this is public information, because the pdf maps for each
county are avaiable and I have them, however, georeference all the pdfs and
them digitize them will be a many, many hours pain...

I would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me

I've been struggling with DB Manager, and I hope someone can explain me
what the problem is.

I am querying a PostGIS table but when I try to load the SELECT results to
map canvas nothing happens! A simple example:

[Qgis-user] Lizmap time manager

Hi everyone,

I'm having a hard time using the time manager functionality of Lizmap. When
I click the time manager on my web browser the application doesn't go
beyond the  loading data

The problem seems to be related with the data type of the column that
contains the date information (in my case years). I tried columns of type
string, date, integer, postgresql data type, but without success.

Has anyone used this functionality successfully? Any hints?

 color_aggri attribute the same possible values appear.

[Qgis-user] Geoinformation Science with QGIS

Dear all,



The Faculty ITC [1] of the University of Twente, The Netherlands, is
starting a 9 month distance course in Geo-Information Science and Earth
Observation (15 EC spread over a 9-month period)  that can be taken solo or
as a first step to a full MSc degree..

A decision was made to use *QGIS* (or associated providers) designed
exercises to explore the concepts of Geo-Information Science. We believe
this will contribute decisively for the quality of the course, and
therefore appreciate if you can share this among your contacts.

The course consists of three 10-week separate but connected 5 EC modules.
The course will extend from February to November 2017 in part-time (14
hours a week) modality. Enrollments are accepted until the *6**th**of
January 2017*

[Qgis-user] TauDEM

Dear All,

I am trying to enable TauDEM provider, but so far no success. This is what
I have tried:

1- I used the complete Full Windows Installer from here
http://hydrology.usu.edu/taudem/taudem5/downloads2.html

2 - MPICH2/OpenMPI bin directory: D:\Microsoft_MPI\Bin

3 - TauDEM command line tools folder: ~\tauDEM_64

Whenever I try to run a tool, the processing dialog returns:

'"D"' is not recognized as an internal or external command,

operable program or batch file.

Converting outputs

Loading resulting layers


The following layers were not correctly generated.

   - Longest Upslope Length Grid
   - Total Upslope Length Grid
   - Strahler Network Order Grid

You can check the log messages to find more information about the execution
of the algorithm

It looks like the Path is being taken as part of the command that is
launched.
Has anyone manage to use this provider? Any suggestions?

Thanks Werner,

I started by trying the standard paths, but same results. I tried those
ones assuming the space in 'Program files' could be an issue :(

One note though is that I am using QGIS from the standalone installer (LTR
2.14). Maybe I will get more sucessfull using the OSGeo4W installer.
