Hi!
Depending on which Operating System you are using I suggest either to
use the tool coming with you Garmin (MapSource?)
Or in the OpenSource World there is a nice program which works
perfectly with Garmin. It is called QtLandkarteGT [1].
QGIS is not a GPS-Managing Program - it is able to
You can also try DNRGPS, which is also open source and very works very well
with Garmin GPS machines.

Hello All,
I would like to upload shapefiles through QGIS into my Garmin 62 GPS
unit. I did a little research online and it appears that QGIS can only
upload files in the gpx format (please correct me if I'm wrong!). Does
anyone have any suggestions on alternative ways to accomplish this
YOU CAN TRY GPS TRACKMAKER

IAFK , You can upload a GPX file directly to a Garmin 62 GPS unit. So
your problem is how to convert your shapefile to a GPX file:
1. Right click on your shapefile layer in the Layers dialog. A menu
will be shown with several choices.
2. Chose Save As from the right click - menu.
