Re: [Qgis-user] R scripts: How to get things working and what could be changed
Hi, I have just updated the documentation to reflect the changes that were made with R in processing for QGIS 3 (R-> Tools removed from the Processing Toolbox and moved to a pulldown menu at the top of the Toolbox - as for Python processing scripts). The link to the online collection is also gone (should be taken care of by the "QGIS Resource Sharing" plugin, but R scripts are not offered there yet). I included the link to the location of the scripts (as far as I can tell, QGIS 2 R scripts can also be used in QGIS 3). So it should not take long before the changes are reflected on the page that Matteo pointed to. Hi Anita, I got in touch with Nyall and I hope he/we will be able to track down the/my issue. There is some movement in development also, so if one day the vector handling will be done through the sf package and I will be able to get the stuff running, my toolset will be almost complete and I will be a happy man ;) Cheers, Bernd Am 08.11.19 um 21:14 schrieb Anita Graser: Hi Bernd, On Mon, Nov 4, 2019 at 4:43 PM Bernd Vogelgesang mailto:bernd.vogelges...@gmx.de>> wrote: Investigating the web does not bring up anything useful about R-scripts within QGIS, so I wonder if there is anybody out there using this feature successfully? [Qgis-user] R scripts: How to get things working and what could be changed
Hi all, I can't get my fingers dirty on python, and SQL is not a friend of mine as well, but I managed to do a lot of more complex stuff in R. The sad truth is, that I never managed to get a single working output of R-scripts within QGIS. I tried several times over the years, but nothing worked. Investigating the web does not bring up anything useful about R-scripts within QGIS, so I wonder if there is anybody out there using this feature successfully? I'm mainly interested in processing vectors, but in my test of today, I did not even manage to output a vector which I just read in and left it unchanged. Furthermore, the setup with "sp" and "rgdal" in charge to read layers, seems only able to process ESRI Shape files. Test with loaded layers from gpkg or sqlite did not work. In general, I switched from using sp to the sf package a while ago. Handling geodata is sooo much more easy in sf and in connection with the tidyverse, data crunching comes to a whole new level. So, is there anyone facing the same problems, does anyone have hints for me where to find some more ressources, or does anyone have an opion about how to improve the hole thing?
