maybe it is because opensuse 10.2 uses QT version 4.2.1 instead of current
4.3.x. This might cause your crashes but maybe others can say more about that?
Can you give an example with the Alaska Dataset to reproduce your problems?

same package, but a different version. I guess it won't be a problem to let the
update overwright the ellipse.table file from the older version.

can be used as QGIS promotion material and provides an overview about the
capabilities of Quantum GIS 0.9 for fairs, conferences etc in english. The
brochure is done with scribus (you need a current version).
