Thanks all for the prompt replies. I downloaded a 2.17 version (weekly
2.17.0.38) and it works as expected. So far: 2.14 works fine, 2.16 doesn't
use selections when clipping, 2.17 does.

Hi all,With the new processing tools (instead of the ftools I think?) I
cannot seem to find the option to clip using "only selected objects". Am I
missing something here, or is this by design? And I know there are plenty of
ways to work around this, but I am wondering why someone would want to
checked using a Provider feature filter as a workaround), but the active
selection is not used. Maybe broken?

Hi,
a few days ago i installed QGis 2.0.1 on Windows 8 64 Bit / Fedora 19 64
Bit / Ubuntu 12.04 13.04 64 Bit,
- the packages you can get at the QGis-Homepage.
On every linux machine i installed unixdobc / freetds / iodbc,
configured the odbc connection to my SQL-Server
and was able to
checked using a /Provider feature filter/
as a workaround), but the active selection is not used. Maybe broken?

Hi all,
For me (and a few of my students who had the same problem), deleting the
.qgis2 folder and restarting QGIS did the trick perfectly.

Hi Ramon,
Apparently you are not the only one

I could not find any in the Changelog. Or should I suspect and report a bug?
I am back to 2.16.2 for the moment.

Yes, there is a .prj file to each .shp (in all zip-archives).
