Dear All, This is my first post to the forum as a new member. I seemed to be jinxed by a scale distortion problem. I am using windows 8.1 version, Qgis 2.8.1, installed as standalone version. Here is my problem, I am setting the scale in the Map composer as 1:250,000 for a test print of A4 size

Hi Heather, I just found out today that the repositories are not loading for me, i thought its something to do with my qgis installation. The url plugins.qgis.org/ shows 502 bad gateway error. After a bit of search i found that server might be down, the site http://isup.me/ checks that out.
