Reginald, you can extend the duration in Settings --> Options --> General :
Timeout for timed messages or dialogs

Is there a way to keep the errormessage that pops up at the top of the maparea
visible?
It is really annoying when the message disappears before you can read it.
Putting a close button next to it could solve this.
