first idea is creating an issue in qgis tracker... otherwise the problem will be lost in the mailing list. Seems you are talking about a regression that have a great priority. btw I suggest you to test with current master_2 branch (next 2.18) if the problem has been solved... and obviously check if problem was already reported in the issues list.
