Hello Giovanni,

I have a same problem with my Debian PC. I'm not sure of its details, but
it seems to be related a problem between Qt4 package and X drivers.
It works fine with VESA driver or other PC (with radeon driver),
but can't work with NVIDIA or NV driver.

One idea is trying other Qt4 applications (Debian has some Qt4 app).
If other app have same problem, it is a Qt4 or its packageing problem,
but other app works fine with same driver, there is something wrong
with QGIS code.

Regards,

   Akio Takubo
