If you Tony would help with the connectors the list would like to club
together or dare I say Quanta to sponsor someone the $100 US dollars +
 postage
we could find out if it will work when driven through a serial port.

Good suggestion, Duncan. This is just the sort of thing where Quanta could
take an initiative even if it means losing the money.

Worth downloading the PDF files ...to have a look at what it can do.

It has built in drivers for USB mouse and keyboard. As well as USB
 printers.

Controllable from an 8 bit micro-computer.

The programming language uses two letters, so, for example :

 MD is make a directory

 CD change a directory

The firmware updates are available via a web site.

I have done all that and contacted the manufacturer for two dev boards
(which have SD cards).

Watch this space..

Great !

The device does sound promising.

Then there's the lack of USB and printer support.

But just a provocative thought. Have you ever tried to connect a USB only
laptop to a parallel printer? PC World don't know the answer to that one,

EBAY can get you the answer to this problem :-)

Had to go this route for the wife's new lappy, it was cheep
reminded me of the Miracle interface for the QL.
