Hi Andy It's taking too long. It is not normal. People tell me that it takes about 8 hours to download. I hope that things will improve. Meanwhile, anyway, you can download the manuals that interest you from the page. Usin the "Save as..." option menu. good luck! Andy Barber escribió: > Great idea. I can't wait! Re: [Ql-Users] Sinclair QL documents, manuals and magazines
That sounds fantastic. You are welcome! We have space in our server acount. Have you thought of centralizing all the docs? If you think that is well, you can send me the files via email or through sftp (secure ftp over ssh) to my home server. Many docs can be scanned again if you have better quality paper copies. We scanned at monocrome (1 bit) 300 dpi. to minimize the final file size. Can you convert to PDF? This is not important, we can, but using the option to scan documents from Acrobat the end file are smaller. Documents created from images of pages the document takes up more space. OK great - now all we need is someone with a copy of those magazines!! Hi Rich, There is a brief article in QL World Dec 87 page 7, about Qtalk. I can send you a photocopy of the page, if you wish. It states that there are 16 levels of programmable pitch, and more than 400 rules to convert text to speech. Together with an exception dictionary of 25,000 words, and the user can define their own exception table. It goes on to say that Qtalk is configured as standard output device. Requiring just 20K of RAM. Two games - Alien Hijack and Puzzle mania are also mentioned as being released with the device. The cost, at the time, was £88.50 including P&P. The distributor was Chi-Soft, 20 Chandros Way, Welgarth Road, Hampstead, London NW11 7HF. The system was produced by Maxtronic R&D Ltd, 26a Conway Street, Christchurch 2, New Zealand. The article in QL World May 88 page 30. Is a full review written by Ron Massey, and extends over 4 pages of the magazine. The product is described as Maxtronic Qtalk, and the source is given as Strong Computer Systems, Bryn Cottage, Carmarthen, Dyfed SA32 7DJ. Again, I can send you a photocopy of the pages, if you wish. Wolfgang, thanks, albeit this gives no clue of why it doesn't work for me - I seem to have the same version, just without the patch - But the patch seems to be about Q_ERR, not free running procedures. I have now tried to reproduce the problem on both a fast QPC, slow QPC and my sturdy QXL, both with actual SMSQ/E and whatever SMS it came with. I cannot get it to work anywhere. I will try the program on my GoldCard QL, but need to find the monitor cable first Cheers Tobias -Original Message- Date: Mon, 12 Jan 2009 07:31:43 +0100 Subject: Re: [Ql-Users] SPAM-HIGH: Re: QLIB Free-Running Procedures From: "Wolfgang Lenerz" To: ql-us...@q-v-d.com i Tobias, Qlib 3.35 Runtimes 3.36 modified (by Thierry Godefroy?)
