I presume YODEL stands for YOur DELivery or something like that which seems 
from what I've heard to be a contradiction in terms then? Or is it a 
description of the sounds addressees make when their deliveries don't turn 
up as expected?

Why don't you arrange a courier yourself to pick the item off from the guys 
address. All he needs to do is box it up and stick the label on it. If he 
hasn't a printer, 
Print the label yourself and post it too him, arranging the courier at a 
sensible date of course, you want the label to arrive beforehand ;)
