Well, GC is already there somehow ;)

It implements a 68000 CPU at 7.5 MHz, so is already somewhat faster than the
original.

Other 68k implementations on the MiST have 68k20 CPUs running at well beyond
25MHz. There’s still a lot of potential.

Another QL is born. Great work! Looking forward for more features, dreaming
about SGC/Aurora expansion stage.

QL forever!

[Ql-Users] New QL clone

2015-08-13 Thread Tobias Fröschle
All!

It’s been on the QL Forum, but I know not everyone reads there.

Till Harbaum, the originator of the MiST (an FPGA-based „anything“-Computer)
has just released his first open-source implementation of a QL on FPGA.
It implements a basic QL with 1 Microdrive and 640k Memory. (But I’m sure we’ll
grow from there…)

Information about MiST can be found here:
http://harbaum.org/till/mist/index.shtml

https://code.google.com/p/mist-board/
(The web site is not yet updated for the new QL implementation)

If someone already has a MiST board, the core binary can be downloaded from here
https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-binaries/tree/master/cores/ql

And the Verilog (hardware description language) sources from here
https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-board/tree/master/cores/ql

In case you don’t have a MiST and want one, complete devices can be bought here
http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=96

And the original QL-Forum thread is here
http://qlforum.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1360&sid=50c37f9e54cde383875a79cba4255310

Great development, I think!
