Re: [Ql-Users] Carlo Delhez
Very, very sad. My only wish is, that he will now stay with others, who are the same enthusiasts as he was. Cheers...Ralf - Original Message - From: "Bob Spelten" Sent: Thursday, October 29, 2015 12:03 PM Subject: [Ql-Users] Carlo Delhez This weekend I came across the sad announcement that Dutch programmer Dr. Ir. Carlo Delhez had died a week before. He was only 48. He was a familiar name among Sinclair users. He wrote programs for ZX & QL computers, both commercial and freeware. Among them Coral Basic - an extension bringing SuperBASIC to the ZX81 - and ZX emulators for the QL and PC. His Ungif tool has seen regular use on my systems. He was not a club member nor a regular visitor at meetings but I remember talking to him in Eindhoven briefly, about 20 years ago, a very nice person and full of new ideas. Our thoughts are with Carlo's family. Bob ___ QL-Users Mailing List

He was probably not so well known outside the Netherlands, but he did produce some interesting software. I am currently doing a massive task of sorting out my QL floppies to decide which need copying to a more modern medium. I came across Carlo's disk and thought I must have a look at it again. Unfortunately some of the programs do not seem compatible with QPC2, Best Wishes, Geoff ___ QL-Users Mailing List

Very sad to hear this...a young man. I used Carlo's emulators a lot when I first got a QL, as I moved from a Spectrum. He was always very helpful, although like Geoff I never actually met him. May he rest in peace. On 29 Oct 2015 11:03, "Bob Spelten"wrote: > > This weekend I came across the sad announcement that Dutch programmer Dr. > Ir. Carlo Delhez had died a week before. I would like to express Marco Ternelli and my deepest condolences. Marco and I met Carlo in Munster, probably more than 25 years ago. I think this has been the first international meeting we attended and at that time we presented our first ZX Spectrum emulator (ZM/2-ZM/3). At the same meeting Carlo presented his excellent Spectrum emulator. I still remember the 15 hours trip back to Italy by car when Marco and I spent thinking how to improve our emulators. Quite likely without Carlo emulator ZM/128, ZM/hT and ZeXcel would have never seen the light. This unfortunately also reminds us how time has passed quickly and how fragile we are Ciao Carlo Davide and Marco -Messaggio originale- Da: Ql-Users [mailto:ql-users-boun...@lists.q-v-d.com] Per conto di Bob Spelten Inviato: giovedì 29 ottobre 2015 12:04 A: ql-us...@q-v-d.com Oggetto: [Ql-Users] Carlo Delhez This weekend I came across the sad announcement that Dutch programmer Dr. Ir.
