Hello,
Any time for me. As shops close on 4 O'clock, it could even be 5 or 6
O'clock for me.

I bought one from Maplins for a 25 way connection. Good fun to watch
too ... I don't know if there is a similar one for other connectors.
Good idea.
Hi all
I suggest this coming Saturday Feb 12th at 2 O'clock, so we will have about 3
hours for our meeting.

That is the 'laplink' wiring I was referring to. One can ignore the
DTR/DSR cabling as that does not exist on the QL/Aurora.
I should not have used the word 'laplink'. It is just that I have a
branded laplink
M$ did something called PC Power Tools sometime ago. Which may help you
get control over the PC settings.
The Tools are only what the ordinary enthusiast may expect.
I emailed Dilwyn about using regedit.
That is the most effective way, and quite safe for text changes like
this.
Actually
For me it is perfect. I will be there. 3 hours is a lot of time as my
main interest is to speak with Jonathan.
But if you bring a SMSQ/E system then I would be happy if it could
send me a Hello email.

All that is required is a standard Null Modem Lead, they work perfectly.
Laplink cables do not work as you have stated. In fact all that is
required is 5 lines.

Seems so simple, yet people keep having problems with it. I guess mine can't

Time to go buy a PC networking book I think, then there'll be trouble ;-)
I reckon tweakui will do the job - does for me.
No more delving into the registry for the My Documents default again I
think.
You also get a brilliant
As far as I can see:
By default, if you right-click the My Documents icon on your desktop and
click Properties, the tab lets you change the path of this folder.
If this doesn't work, you probably have to change the following registry
value to 0.
Not sure I come but in case, 2pm Saturday but where exactly?

The original LapLink software supported two port variants: Parallel and

That is true
The first is a 25D-25D which is a PARALLEL and the second one (what
Tony has) is a null modem Serial

As a consequence asking for a LapLink cable you end up with a
