umlaut) Marcel suggested getting round the problem by defining a hotkey
using the Chr$ command to carry out the required action,

On a PC the keyboard is configured internally to return different scan codes
for the main keypad digits and the numeric keypad digits. This is, I presume,
so that software can detect the numberic keypad keys whe NUM-LOCK is on and off

Both keyboards set to same nationality ?
Try swapping keyboards.
Extract settings from both machines and compare.
Transfer settings wizard via floppy.
