Re: [ql-users] Q40 and bogus SAME game

2005-03-12 Thread Dilwyn Jones
My mouse is finally back on my Q40, thanks everyone.
I tried, using SMSQ/E 3.09 (homebuilt), to run the game SAME
(available from http://www.dilwyn.uk6.net/games/ )
and I have two problems:
 - The custom animated mouse pointer is "bogus": the arrow is fine,
but its background is full black or transparent.
 - Running the game corrupt the memory, and leaving the game crash
the system. (if sysmon is running at launch time, it immediatly
complains!)
I'm running the Q40 with High-Colour display, large screen.
Cache is usually set to copyback (but same test with serialized does
not change any things (aside slower move of windows).
Is there a newer, fixed, version of SAME ?
(and using more colour too ???)
The author is Frank-Guido Dibowski, if anyone knows of his
whereabouts. He
produced a number of pointer driven games for the QL a few years ago,
and I think he also participated in the QL PD-CDR. He has a QL website
(no software downloads though) at:

http://cips02.physik.uni-bonn.de/~dibowski/
The email address on his website is:
Dibowski AT cip DOT physik DOT uni-bonn.de

[ql-users] Q40 and bogus SAME game

2005-03-09 Thread Jérôme Grimbert
My mouse is finally back on my Q40, thanks everyone.
I tried, using SMSQ/E 3.09 (homebuilt), to run the game SAME
(available from http://www.dilwyn.uk6.net/games/ )
and I have two problems:
 - The custom animated mouse pointer is "bogus": the arrow is fine, but
its background is full black or transparent.
 - Running the game corrupt the memory, and leaving the game crash the
system. (if sysmon is running at launch time, it immediatly complains!)

I'm running the Q40 with High-Colour display, large screen.
Cache is usually set to copyback (but same test with serialized does not
change any things (aside slower move of windows).

Is there a newer, fixed, version of SAME ?
(and using more colour too ???)
