Hi Axel,

do you use QMapShack or QLandkarte GT? In QMapShack I would use the track edit function

https://bitbucket.org/maproom/qmapshack/wiki/DocGisItemsEditMultiple

to select a range of track points, remove them and start to route the section with the help of Routino or BRouter on-the-fly.

But you should consider some thoughts:

OSM data is as inaccurate as your GPS device. This is because most OSM data has been recorded with inaccurate GPS devices by amateurs, not always knowing what they are doing. Especially off the road my recordings differ from the ones in OSM. But comparing the track with the real situation at the place I am usually more confident in my recordings than in OSM.

Especially in the mountain ranges a differences between OSM data and GPS records must not neccessarily be because of inaccuracy. The trails change from year to year because the ground is moving and a safe trail has to be found each year anew. Trusting OSM data blindly can be hazardous in this case.

If you want to have a track fitting OSM data why bother to adjust your recording to the OSM data. Simply use the track drawing tool of QMapShack with Routino or BRouter to create your exact matching artificial track.

A in a recorded track the position of points, their elevation and timestamp are in a relation that makes sense and allows to derive secondary data as the speed, slope etc. If you move the points you break that relation. That is why you will lose timestamps when you edit a real recording with QMapShack. And elevation data won't fit anymore. Usually you will replace it by data from the DEM files.

Betreff: [Qlandkartegt-users] Adding gps points to a gpx track

Dear All,

I kindly ask you for some help.

I like to rework gpx files, which are created by a Garmin GPS and reworked by other people.

I like to adjust the gpx tracks according the OSM Maps which are not fitting due to  inaccurateness of GPS.

(Sometimes the way in QSM is more than 10 meters away from the track etc)

The most easyiest way is to shift points which automatic routing function.

But sometimes the GPS points are to far away from each other.

Can I add points similar to the filter "Reduce visble points"?

I do not like to add points manually by the related menu, because I have to rework a lot of tracks.

Thank you for your help!

Kind regards

Axel
