scratch. All installation will go to /usr.
So please check your current installation path, may be it could be
/usr/local. Mixing up could led into trouble.

Linux distribution, because Debian stretch is using an quit old but
stable GLIBC 2.2.x version, which I need for an AppImage project, I am
currently working on.
Unfortunately Debian Stretch has Qt 5.7 in its official
for the records: as the gpsserver.py does not seem to modify
anything in the NMEA stream, a simple
cat /dev/ttyACM0 | nc -lk 2
might do the same job without any python/pyserial/script installation.

copy mode is not on top of window stack. I use CTRL-TAB to bring it visible.

usr/local. You have copied some files to /usr, but not all I think.
Change line 48 of the file 'Makefile.conf' in routino to 'prefix=/usr'.
